Maker "P" Complete set on 3 unaddressed nonstandard #6-3/4 (6-5/16" x 3-5/8") cream colored envelopes. “First Day of Issue” cancellations and postmarks. One envelope has a Plate Block of 4 with the plate number, the two others have two stamps each. All have the same backs, so I only illustrate one. The cachets honor ‘Polka Spider Web Laces’, with Polka Spider doilies depicted on the backs of all envelopes. Polka Spider lace was a derivative of Teneriffe needleweaving, with designs issued by K. and K. Products of Chicago in 1939 and 1941. I am unable to find any reference to the “Handcrafted by P” issuer of this cachet. The work on these cachets seems fairly crude and the doilies are off-center. The text is unrelated to Polka Spider lace.
