My mother, Judith Fogt, is an accomplished watercolorist. She has 25 years of professional experience. She has painted art for some of the famous, has won many awards in the cachet community, painted an ornament for The White House Christmas Tree among other honors. Currently, she continues to paint cachets for the philatelic community as "First Day Covers". These are small paintings on an envelope that has a stamp that has been cancelled on its first day of issue. They are collectible items and not used for mailing. The watercolor ties in with the theme of the stamp. They are then framed or collected in albums
