1100 Jahre Lustenau

5-7/8" x 4-3/16" Maxicard isued by Maxiglob. The card is marked 'Erstdag' (firstday), but the stamp is not cancelled.

Lustenau is on the Rhine River in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg in the Dornbirn district, on the Swiss border. The stamp was issued May 22, 1987, and is Scott #1398, and Stanley Gibbons #887. It was issued to commerate the 1100th anniversary of the first time the name "Lustenouua" appears. The stamp bears the arms of the city and an example of Chemical lace embroidery.
