Flemish Pottery lacemaker

8-1/2" high, 8" long, ~3-2/8" wide

Unknown maker.

This is my largest figure. It is surprising, that given the size the potter would not have done more detail on the chair and stand. She has a rather unusual orange hat, and solid blue dress. The 'flame' markings of the glaze would indicate a Brugges maker. The drapery is nicely handled, and there's a lot of detail on the face. The walls of the piece are quite thin - all in all it has the feel of an older piece.

Some damage to the front and rear base corners on the side along the lacemaker's right arm (with attempted repairs). A small mark on the dress skirt on the left, a little chip on the forward left corner of the pillow and some chips on the underside of the base, not otherwise visible. All in all, not bad shape.
