Mechlin Lappets

Excellent condition, these look unused. Need to get the microscope out to closely examine the tops and see if any cutting happened. Also to determine the right sides. Irregularites in the mesh appear to be thread variations.

Louis XVI light floral motifs, later 18th century, perhaps early 19th c. Fond de glace with minimal fillings. The long lengths are also typical of later 18th c lappets. Extraordinary technique and condition.
These should be mirror images, but we have to wait until the right sides are determined to see if that holds here.
