Point de Gaze bertha with roses

~44” neckline, ~86” along the outside edge, 7” depth.
Excellent condition, good white color, no damage that I can find.

Romantic floral design, note the 'windows' in the raised petal rose petals. Delicate, excellently worked jours. The design is fairly open, and extremely well done with fine thread. Outer picots are joined at the tops, perhaps in imitation of Alençon. An exceptional piece.

Ex. coll. Debra Bonito, author of the book "Graced by Lace". She was a lace author and textile collector and dealer who visited Japan three times to lecture on the subject. She once appeared on Martha Stewart to talk about cleaning linens.
