Pieces soiled, occasional brown spot, and pulled a little out of shape. Good condition.

Zele needlelace with known provenance. The work is done with very coarse thread and solidly worked - the photos are a little deceptive. Good study pieces with a solid Zele attribution.

From the seller (Patrick Burm, Dendermonde, Belgium):
Thanks a lot for buying the lacework of my Grandmother Elisa van Mossevelde. She made it all her self in the years 1950 - 1960. I am so happy that it will be respected by somebody who knows that it is not easy to make this kind of lace.
I looked for some information as you asked me. You can find some information out of the family tree included. On the pictures you can see my grand parents Basilius and Elisa. More my sister with the small lacework Elisa made. This foto was made in Congo as we were born there and my parents stayed for 35 years in Kinshasa. Elisa was born in Overmere Donk and then went to Berlare. Her parents were 100% from Zele and Zele Heikant. I did not find a foto from her making some lacework. Her son is still alive and I am going to meet him one of these days so I can inform you where she learnd the lacework. She worked completely alone and made the lacework for the family and special occasions. Unfortunatly some months ago my sister deceased and when I emptyed her house all the needed objects for making lace and the typical blue papers were thrown away. I am now very sorry for this...
