Lefkara Lace

Very good condition. Rather dirty, occasional brown spot. Linen thread, finished on all side, no obvious damage. This piece has a length of netting sewn on the back of the top border probably to accomodate a narrow rod for mounting.

Linen Lefkara lace border, probably mid 20th c. The fillings in the diamond shapes vary along the length of the piece. There are different designs in triangular spaces, but they are mirrored top and bottom. The fringed bobbin border added separately, and is cut off and folded over at both ends. The fringe might be bobbin lace - not certain. This is not as complex as Lefkara_1 which is a full triparite design.
