Mid 18th century Alençon lappets

Both 23" long x 3.75" at top (58.42cm x 9.52cm)
Holes at top of one.
Mounted for "Lace, from Fine Art to Folk Art", Mesa Public Library, Los Alamos, NM, 07/05/08 to 08/02/08.

Bobbin engrelure at top of both. Typical Louis XV design, center wave crossed by bands of jours. Simple flowers inbetween the waves, slightly scalloped edges. Mirror images. Réseau fin.
