Alençon or Argentan cap back, late 18th, early 19th c

10" wide, 8.5" high (25.4cm x 21.59cm)
Excellent condition, just a little yellow. Maybe a little repair to mesh at the top?
Mounted for "Lace, from Fine Art to Folk Art", Mesa Public Library, Los Alamos, NM, 07/05/08 to 08/02/08.

Central oval, small flowers sprinkled throughout. Réseau fin used as fillings, brides tortillée elsewhere, although this needs further examination.
