Ends appear to be the original terminations. The thread used for the tulle background is quite fine resulting in numerous small holes and pinholes. This damage is sporatic, appearing in some columns, not others. Otherwise excellent condition.

A sophisticated vertical design - the roundels are especially impressive technically. Typical Le Puy tulle ground backing a floral design, with nice shading in the flowers.  Picoted loop ground, but only in small areas at the top and bottom. The more traditional 'acanthus' leaf sprays at the bottoms of the columns is an interesting but perhaps not entirely successful termination. Nonetheless this is a very impressive piece.
