l'Atelier National du Point d'Alençon medallions

There are four versions of this medallion. It was designed by sculpteur and medalist Serge Santucci, born in 1944 at Salernes. He studied under Raymond Corbin, professor of sculpture and medal engraving at the école nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris.

The silver medal is 8.6 cm in diameter. It came with the stand, and was purchased in Alençon in 1980. It is dated on the flat rim 1979, 58/100. I purchased this in Alençon in 1980, and it is shown with the original plastic stand.

The copper plated version is 8.1 cm in diameter. The rim is a wedge with no inscription, otherwise it is an exact duplicate of the silver medal.

The bronze version is 7.7 cm in diameter. It is quite thick, aroud 22.8 mm, and is 207.3 gm. The edge is plain and inscribed 1979 bronze.

A second "copper plate" version shows the same hands, but a different reverse.
