Valenciennes lappets

Very good condition. Joined, with some of the tops cut off, so original length is unknown. A little beige with some small faint brown areas No obvious damage.

Floral designs differ in each repeat, this is a sign of superior work. There is an interesting ground that looks like Mechlin, however this is not a Mechlin piece. Valenciennes laces of this period (~1730) often experimented with grounds. Excellent 'line-drawing' technique.
