Rosaline - Jesurum

This piece was a gift to me from Mario Levi Morenos at Jesurum in 1980. It is a local product of the Jesurum, and shows the typical buttonhole stitching used in the Burano technique. He explained to me how making a piece like this involved many separate steps. Workers were assigned to each step based on their physical similarities - similar handsize, for example.

The piece is badly stained, so I am presenting it in black and white for better clarity.
