Very good condition, a little beige, soft feel. Thread running thru the top border, but not through the entire length. 5" section cut away from the top next to a section with the running thread, 39" from one end. Occasional small defects to the top edge, some with attempted repair.
Linen: 2 Ply S Single Z. Diameter varies a lot, probably handspun.  average 0.165mm, 0.254mm, 0.085mm.

A probable Pescocostanzo border with stylized vine, leaf, and flower design - likely a freehand lace rather loosely woven. It is a continuous lace with a 6-pointed star mesh resembling that of Point de Paris, and a straight lower border. The work is fairly delicate, and it might be an earlier piece.
