Chebka Knotted Lace insertion

3" x 118" (7.62cm x 299.72cm)

Very good condition. No breaks, but many small rust spots.

An insertion of Chebka knotted lace, bordered with a narrow tape engrelure, probably machine-made. It has a complex design of diamonds separated by diagonal bars.

Comprehensive excellent technical manual on Chebka knotted needlelace. Presumably written by missionaries with direct experience in Tunisia. This is the only work ever published solely on this technique.
