Great Lakes Lace Group cachet

The Great Lakes Lace Group’s first-day cover envelope for the Lacemaking stamp block on a #6-1/4 (6" x 3.5") envelope.  The Honiton design of the Great Lakes was made by Sheila Wells (author of Honiton Lace, Step by Step in 1998). The cover was not addressed because of the large size of the block. The original cost of this cover was $2.50 US, or $2.75 overseas, and could be ordered from Mrs. Pamela Kirk, Box #522, Brooklyn, Michigan 49230. Five thousand were produced.
