Clarence E. Reid

5 addressed envelopes, #6-3/4 (6-1/2" x 3-1/8") each with “First Day of Issue” cancellations and postmarks. Each has a different color lettering in the cachet. All items have the “Clarence E. Reid” name and address stamp on the back, in red for the envelopes, black for the maxicards. The pictures of the stamps seem to be taken from the old “Photo Essay” release for the press, and the poor resolution of those photos doesn’t help this cachet.  Although only about 20 of these sets were produced, visually these cachets are uninspiring.

Four 6” x 4” maxicards by Reid, each with different stamps, letter coloring, and all with “First Day of Issue” cancellations and postmarks.

Clarence E. Reid seems to have produced cachets back at least as far as the 1920’s in Newark, subsequently moved to Pembroke Pines, Florida.
