Carol Gordon

Each Carol Gordon large envelope is A-7 (7-1/4" x 5-5/16") in size, and indicates that these are a limited printed edition of 200. Most Carol Gordon products are hand-painted, although there’s nothing obvious to indicate this in the Lacemaking envelopes.  It is Carol Gordon cachet #154. My collection currently has 8 examples:

Block of 4 #11/31, “First Day of Issue” cancellation and postmark.
Dual #10/10, tied by 1 Ypsilanti and 3 unofficial cancels.
One stamp in each corner, #4/5, 1 Ypsilanti and 3 unofficial cancels.
Single Saari stamp, #9/10, Cadillac, MI unofficial cancel.
Maxwell stamp, #9/10, Dearborn, MI unofficial cancel.
McPeek stamp, #9/10, Ann Arbor, MI unofficial cancel.
Ruffner stamp, #9/10, Grosse Pointe Park unofficial cancel.

Combo #4/4, “First Day of Issue” cancellation and postmark.  This envelope has a Swiss stamp showing St. Gall embroidery issued in 1976, and a German stamp issued in 1956 for a fair at Leipzig.

Combo #1/4, "First Day of Issue" cancellation and postmark. This envelope has an Austrian stamp showing a machine-made wedding veil issued in 1968.

Altogether, these ‘release’ numbers account for 94 of the 200 originally printed. I’m still looking for others.
