Mechlin handkerchief

top 12.5", bottom 12-3/8", left 12", right 12" (31.175cm, 31.43cm, 30.48cm, 30.48cm)"
Excellent condition, appears unused. Handkerchief storage folds.
There is an assembly issue - the gimp tails lie on top of the mesh when the piece is oriented with the monogram in the lower left crner. Indicating that the lace was attached to the linen cloth with the back side up. The lacework is very similar front and back, so this doesn't matter much.

Cloth, half stitch and mesh: cotton, 2 ply S, single Z. average 0.125mm, standard deviation 0.015mm
Gimp: could be linen, 2 ply S, single Z. Average 0.428mm, standard deviation 0.046mm

Mechlin handkerchief with a hunting theme, deer in the corners, hunting horn with rifle flanked by birds perched on a branch facing the deer in the centers. Exceptionally fine work. The start/end seam is clearly visible in the upper right section, between the bird and the corner deer. All else appears continuous. There is a monogram in the lower left corner of the cloth, with a center 'W' and what appears to be two flanking 'E's on either side, mirror images. It is possible they might be the number "8".
