Mechlin rectangular scarf

Three noticeable pinholes, a few smaller ones. One filling area torn in the tapework. One area of browning at one end. Scallops along edges sometimes curl and obscure the picots. Fold creasing along the length.

A narrow rectangular scarf of fine Mechlin. A simple design of carnation-like flowers arranged perpendicular to the long edges giving a bit of an architectural appearance. A double entwined ribbon is used along the borders, finished with small leaves on the outside. Fine thread, delicate work - this is an unusually large piece.
