This study was prepared for the International Labour Organization within the framework on the World Employment Programme. The ILO is a UN initiative founded in 1919 to bring together workers, employers, and governments to promote better job opportunities. It won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1969. This study looks at the Andhra Pradesh lacemaking cottage industry, with rather discouraging results.
