Tatted motif

13" long, 5-1/4 wide along the centerline.
Excellent condition.

This must be something close to the Irish source. Note the needlelace fillings and the trefoil motif border. There don't seem to be many 'joins' as they are understood today - all the separate motifs are tied to the next one with a piece of knotted thread, cut ends of which can be clearly seen in the closeup.
