Camariñas (La Coruña) frontpiece

Excellent condition, just a few soft folds. (poor photo taken with iPhone, will be redone.)

Rare to find Camariñas lace, although there is an important industry in the region. Unknown age, but it was purchased at the Palilleìra Melania (see Paper, it came wrapped in a paper printed with these ads).The piece has some similarites to the sol motif in Maltese. Note the nusual Mechlin or Droschel ground, on a larger scale. You see something like this in the Native American Oneida laces.
