Chebka Knotted Lace Square

The sheet is 96" wide and 120" long. The foldover part is 32" and has a horizontal Chebka lace insert of 7"wide and 57" long in the middle as well as two vertical Chebka lace inserts of 7" x 15" on the sides.

Very good condition. Obvious fold creases, and some brown discoloration at some borders of the insertions.

Tunisian Chebka lace had a strong market in France, where this piece might have been assembled. As well as the Chebka insertions, the sheet is decorated with simple drawnwork, and has raised whitework monogram of the initials EVB. This is a large object, with the short decorated part meant to be folded over. The lace itself is a fairly complex three-part design.
